The Outsider By Stephen King Book Review

The Outsider is a 2018 novel by Stephen King. Here’s my review of the book.

Plot

An 11-year-old boy was brutally raped and brutally murdered. The flesh was also bitten off from the boy’s body. All kinds of evidence, eyewitnesses, and forensic reports say that a well-known person in the neighborhood did this horrible thing. He got arrested. But he strongly denies the charge. Even saying that he was in another city on the day of the murder. After investigation, It was found that, yes, on the day of the murder, he was actually in a program outside the city, so the forensic report? After a while, the DNA test came into hand, and it matched with the arrested person. Then, police filed a chargesheet and sent him to the court. On the day of the court appearance, the boy’s brother shot him in the street to take revenge. He died immediately, but at the last moment, he says that he did not kill!!

Even though all the evidence was against the man, the detective’s mind kept ticking. Anyone with a similar look? Twin brother? But no, the fingerprints of the arrested person also matched the fingerprints found at the crime scene. How can the same person be in two places at the same time? Something supernatural?

The detective’s mind begins to say that the killer might be someone else. But the evidence? Eyewitnesses? The detective resumes his investigation. Again, this murder coincides with another murder hundreds of miles away. But how? Why?? What is happening here?

My Review

I have not read any of Stephen King’s books before. But after reading this book, I have to say I will definitely be buying more of King’s books from now on. I really liked the book. The author tells all the possible solutions to the tangle of a mystery in the very first chapter. That’s why you will be forced to read the author’s writing to find out how the writing ends.

The chapters are written like this: The first paragraph is the current story, and the next paragraph is the witness statement or forensic report analysis. These analyses are given in such beautiful detail that you will get lost in the writing. At one point, it felt like I was watching a crime TV series with lots of tension. This book is a book to be read continuously. The last thing I want to say is that Stephen King is really a King.
