Tell No One By Harlan Coben Book Review

Tell No One is a 2001 thriller novel by American Writer Harlan Coben. It was Coben’s third stand-alone novel and first since 1991. It was also Coben’s first novel to appear on The New York Times Best Seller list. In 2006, it was adapted into a French film.

Here’s my review of the book.

Plot

After the death of his beloved wife, Elizabeth, Dr. David Beck’s life becomes like a robot. All of which then revolve only between clinic-to-home and home-to-clinic. There is no variety in life, and only a dog as a companion. In that monotonous and boring life, suddenly, one day, an email from an unknown address comes to his email address. The email contained something that only he and Elizabeth knew, so he was surprised and nervous when he read it. His beloved wife trying to communicate with him, who died eight years ago!

On the other hand, the police are re-investigating the murder case that was closed eight years ago, where a notorious murderer is sitting in jail waiting for death. Elizabeth’s father, Dr. Beck’s sister Linda, is on the suspect list.

After all these years, after the skeletons of two people were found in the Lake Charmaine area, everything took a turn for the worse. What actually happened in Lake Charmaine eight years ago? Something else actually happened that day behind Dr. Beck’s knowledge?

My Review

This is a great rocket-paced thriller. One surprise after another. Twist from the first page to the last page. Twist, thrill, and revenge all in one. An excellent plot.

Readers who love thrillers and mysteries but aren’t familiar with Harlan Coben are probably hard to find. Although before reading “Tell No One,” I had the opportunity to read only one of his books, “Gone for Good.” After finishing the book, I felt a sense of satisfaction. After a long time, I read a great mystery thriller. And all the unexpected twists were extra. Even though they suddenly come into the story, the author presents them in such a way that instead of being a complaint, it adds to the charm of the book’s story. In the end, the author ended the book with such a twist that the book has to be completed. I recommend this fast-paced thriller to everyone to read.
